Electric Kif is a Miami-based power quartet known for pushing the boundaries of rock, jazz fusion, and electronic drum & bass. Featuring bassist Rodrigo “Digo” Zambrano, keyboardist Jason Matthews, drummer Armando Lopez, and guitarist Eric Escanes, the band has built a reputation for explosive live performances, fearless improvisation, and their self-described style of “post-nuclear music.”

Formed in Miami’s thriving live-music scene, Electric Kif originally grew out of late-night sessions and residencies where the musicians could explore ideas beyond their work as touring sidemen. Over the years the quartet has developed a distinctive sound that blends virtuosic musicianship, heavy groove, and electronic textures—creating music that moves seamlessly between jazz fusion, funk, progressive rock, and modern jamtronica.

The band celebrated more than a decade together with the release of their sixth studio album, ReThink (2024). Written and developed during an immersive creative retreat along Florida’s Withlacoochee River, the album marked a turning point in the band’s process and sonic direction. The record showcases the group’s cinematic compositions, layered electronic elements, and intricate rhythmic interplay, and was praised as a standout modern fusion release.

Electric Kif continues to release new material, including singles such as “Funny Dream” (2025) and collaborations with artists across the funk, jazz, and jam scenes.
A favorite on the festival circuit, Electric Kif has appeared at events including GroundUP Music Festival, Rochester International Jazz Festival, Suwannee Hulaween, Suwannee Rising, North Beach Music Festival, and Bear Creek Festival. The band has also shared stages and collaborated with artists such as Cory Wong, Snarky Puppy, Jojo Mayer/Nerve, Cory Henry, Ghost-Note, Adam Deitch, Stanley Jordan, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, and Marco Benevento.

With an ever-growing catalog and a reputation for high-energy performances that evolve every night, Electric Kif continues to gain national attention as one of the most exciting modern fusion acts emerging from South Florida.​​​​​​​​​​​
